The second phase of Baft steel , one of the largest producers of sponge iron in Iran, with the capacity to produce 800,000 tons of sponge iron per year, was put into operation within 32 months. and increased its production capacity to 1.6 million tons per year. This phase was completed despite challenges such as changing regulations, the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and frequent power and gas outages, thanks to the tireless efforts of the CEO and hardworking employees of the company.

This project is one of the most important industrial projects in Iran, which will create sustainable employment for more than 600 people directly and indirectly in the deprived area of Baft, Kerman. This will play a significant role in the balanced economic development of the region.

The second phase of Baft steel 

The second phase of Baft Steel, in line with the development-oriented ideas of Mahdi Jahangiri, the CEO of the Tourism Financial Group, is one of several projects that have been completed in 2023 following his promise to revitalize the group's projects this year.

The first phase of the Baft Steel Company was commissioned in 2019 with the participation of the Mahan Industries & Mines Development Company, one of the largest industrial and mining holding companies in Iran, as a 60% shareholder, which is part of the tourism financial group with the aim of industrial self-sufficiency and production of products It has been strategically exploited like sponge iron.

Sponge iron, an important product in the steel industry, is made from raw iron ore. This product has a high iron content and is used in the production of crude steel, alloy steel, and granular DRI. It also plays an important role in reducing the cost of steel production and reducing environmental pollution. The products of the Baft steel complex are supplied to domestic and foreign markets. This company plays an important role in the development of the country's steel industry by producing high-quality and competitive products.
